About
J Parker Arts

My name is Julie Parker. From puppets to costuming, each project is a unique creation utilizing found and recycled materials. The re-purposing of materials is a key tenet of my creative process, along with my fascination for the natural world.

Costumes and Life Sized Puppets
Unique festival wear and costumes for children and adults. Emphasizing comfort and re-purposed materials for low environmental impact. I consider some of the costumes to be life size puppets, which are animated by the dancers who wear them.

Shadow Puppets
Inspired by traditional east Asian shadow puppets and projections on the screen.

Photography and Painting
Attempt to capture the places, organisms, and perspectives of the natural world that fascinate and inspire me.
